Paradise Found: Puerto Vallarta's Tourism Surges to Record-Breaking Levels!

In terms of tourism, Puerto Vallarta has experienced remarkable growth in the first quarter of 2023. Our destination has achieved significant milestones in hotel occupancy, passenger arrivals at the Puerto Vallarta International Airport, and cruise ship arrivals at the National Port System Administration of Puerto Vallarta.

During the initial three months of 2023, Puerto Vallarta hotels achieved an impressive average occupancy rate of 83.6 percent. This represents a notable increase of 10.9 percent compared to the corresponding period in 2022, which recorded an occupancy rate of 72.7 percent.

Simultaneously, the Puerto Vallarta International Airport has witnessed a continuous influx of passengers who have come to experience the wonders of this popular tourist destination. More than 3 million passengers passed through the Puerto Vallarta International Airport during the first five months of the year, exceeding the total that it accumulated in the same period of 2022 by almost 20%. Likewise, the National Port System Administration of Puerto Vallarta has reported a remarkable increase in cruise ship passengers during the first quarter of 2023. A total of 221,593 cruise passengers visited our port, reflecting a significant surge of 113.8 percent compared to the corresponding period in 2022, which registered 103,644 cruise passengers.

Moreover, there were 72 cruise ship arrivals from January to March 2023, indicating a growth of 28.6 percent compared to the same period in 2022 when 56 ships were registered. Considering this positive trend, tourism in Puerto Vallarta is expected to continue flourishing, with sustained high levels of hotel occupancy and a steady influx of air and sea passengers throughout the year.

The perfect fusion of natural beauty, vibrant culture, and warm hospitality has contributed to Puerto Vallarta's continued rise as one of the most sought-after destinations.
